What we actually use

This website does not use advertising cookies, does not run a Meta or TikTok pixel, and does not share your browsing with third-party advertisers. That is why you are not being asked to dismiss a consent banner.

What runs is limited to what the site needs to work and basic, aggregated visitor counting.

Essential cookiesSet by our hosting platform to serve the site securely and to remember your preferences within a session. The site cannot function without these.

Aggregated analyticsOur host counts page views and referrers in aggregate, without cookies and without building a profile of you. We use it to see which pages travellers actually read.

Embedded contentIf we embed a video or map in future, that provider may set its own cookies when you interact with it. We will name it here before doing so.

What we do not use

Advertising or retargeting cookies.
Cross-site tracking pixels of any kind.
Cookies that build a profile of you across other websites.
Third-party data brokers.

If that changes

We may add Google Analytics or similar in future, to understand which guides travellers find useful. If we do, we will update this page first, name the service, explain what it collects, and add a consent banner where the law requires one.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies from its settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of this site working properly, but nothing here tracks you across the web, so there is little to opt out of.

Write to us and a person will answer. We do not use a legal inbox that nobody reads. If something here is unclear or you think it is wrong, we would rather hear it than not.
