The sequence

Nothing is charged and nothing is reserved until you have seen a written itinerary with named camps and one all-in price, and told us to go ahead.

EnquiryFree, with no obligation. We send a route and a price, and revise it as many times as it takes.
ConfirmationA thirty percent deposit secures camps, guides and any internal flights. We issue a written confirmation with every booking reference.
Sixty days before arrivalThe balance is due. We send a reminder in good time.
Within sixty days of arrivalBookings made in this window are payable in full at confirmation.
Before departureYou receive a final pack: bookings, emergency numbers, packing list, visa and health briefing specific to your route.

How to pay

We accept bank transfer and card payment. Card payments carry the processing fee charged by the provider, which we show you before you pay rather than folding it into the price.

Quotes are issued in US dollars unless agreed otherwise. Bank charges levied by your own bank are yours.

What the deposit secures

Deposits are not held by us as profit. They are paid onward to camps, lodges, charter operators and park authorities to hold your space, and most of that is non-refundable to us from the moment it is paid. That is the honest reason cancellation terms exist.

Group bookings

For groups of eight or more we may ask for a different deposit schedule, which we will set out in writing before you confirm. The lead traveller is responsible for collecting payment from the group and for passing on all information we send.

Group Safari departures

This is a different product from the group bookings above: a shared vehicle on a fixed date, with seats sold individually rather than one party booking the whole vehicle.

  • Group Safaris: current fixed dates and seat availability for shared-vehicle departures.
  • Deposit: a 30% deposit per person books a seat on a specific departure, the same structure as any other booking.
  • Guaranteed to run: a departure is guaranteed once two travellers have booked a seat on it.
  • If it does not fill: where fewer than two travellers have joined 45 days before the date, you choose another departure, an upgrade to a private journey for the difference in price, or a full refund of everything paid.

Prices held

Once your booking is confirmed, your price is fixed. The only exception is a government increase in park, conservation or tax charges imposed after confirmation, which we may pass on with evidence. Where such an increase exceeds eight percent of your total, you may cancel with a full refund.

What you need to send us

  • Full names exactly as they appear on each passport.
  • Passport number, nationality, date of birth and expiry date for each traveller.
  • Travel insurance provider, policy number and emergency contact number.
  • Dietary requirements, allergies, and any medical or mobility need that affects the journey.
  • An emergency contact at home for each booking.
  • Flight details once booked, so we can meet you.
Why we need it earlyInternal flights require passport details at ticketing, and some camps need dietary information a week ahead to supply it. Late details can mean a missed seat or a meal we cannot fix in the bush.

Questions about this policy

Write to us and a person will answer. We do not use a legal inbox that nobody reads. If something here is unclear or you think it is wrong, we would rather hear it than not.
